I can't even believe I even have enough finished makeup to put into a blog post! It is really so hard to use up a product! I don't have a ton but I do have some really good stuff to show you. If you're interested in seeing my makeup trash then keep reading!

This seems like such a gimmicky product which is exactly why I wanted to buy it and test it out. I haven't heard or seen much about this product which is exactly what made me want to review it. Let's see if it is a makeup lover's staple or just a flop.
I have tried so many different techniques where cleaning my makeup brushes are concerned. Once I got my Beauty Blender, my tried and true baby shampoo just wasn't cutting it. My Beauty Blender was just not coming clean...
Hello lovelies! If you came from my post on the skin care products I am bringing on vacation, then thanks for coming over to read this post! If you aren't into skin care and are just reading this then welcome! By the time you read this, I will be on vacation. Since I am always curious as to what other people bring with them on vacation where beauty products are concerned, I have decided to share with you what I am taking. I will be gone for 4 1/2 days, so I didn't pack a ton of stuff. I am bringing all of my beauty products with me in my carry on because the products are too expensive and I don't want anything to happen to them when my suitcase is roughly handled. First, I will show you what I had to put into my quart sized bag. Literally every makeup product is considered a liquid unless it's a powder. Liquid Makeup Products:
Powder Makeup Products:
Note: There will be 2 other girls with me so I am packing the eye shadows for everyone. Makeup Tools:
So that's all I am bringing! I am so excited to go on vacation! I will talk to you lovelies when I get back! :) <3 I went to New York!!! I was so excited because I have always wanted to go to New York and IMATS! The trip was so much fun and I got so much stuff! I went on IMTAS pro night on Friday April 10th. Pro night was from 3-7pm. Me an my Godmother got to Pier 94 at about 4 o'clock and we were done shopping by 6pm. The crowds were very minimal and I was able to get everything I wanted with no problem. Nothing I wanted was sold out. We didn't wait in like any longer than 5 minutes at any of the booths we were at. Almost all of the booths had no line at all. Because I have such an amazing experience, I will always go on Pro Night. I've heard that on general admission days lines are 4-5 hours long at some booths. That's crazy! So let me show you all of the fun goodies that I got!
If i can remember the price or discount, I will let you know. It's that time again where I will be sharing with you what I got in my Ipsy bag this month! I look forward to getting these bags every month, they are just so much fun! I love on the first of the month when they start giving sneak peeks of what is in the bags. I was very happy with my bag this month so let's get to it.
Klorane Dry Shampoo- I am very excited to try this dry shampoo. I was even more excited when I saw that this is tinted for brown hair, which is super helpful. I have dark hair and when I use just regular dry shampoo you can totally see it in my hair. Even after I have massaged it in and brushed it out, my hair sometimes looks ashy. I recently picked up the Batiste Dry Shampoo with a hint of color for deep and dark brown hair and it is a very cool toned hint. I found that even after brushing it when I touched my hair, the dark powder would still come out on my hands. This seems warmer and much lighter so I'm hoping it works better for me. Julie G Nail Polish in Damsel- I was hoping I would get this in my bag! I have watched Julie G on Youtube for years but I have never tried her nail polish. I have tried her top coat though which I really like. The color is really pretty and it came with a $1 off coupon so you better believe I went to Rite Aid yesterday and got her nail polish. (BTW her nail polish is buy 1 get 1 50% off right now). I can't wait to use this and the other 3 I bought. Mica Beauty Cosmetics Eye Primer- Okay, I searched this product just to see the price and, no joke, this product is $44.95. I do not think this product is worth that price. I haven't used it on my eyes but from feeling it, it reminds me of the cheap concealer palettes where the concealer is really dry and you really have to warm it up with your finger to be even close to usable. To be completely honest, I probably won't use this product. I am not a huge fan of this brand either. I haven't liked many of their products and they are way over priced for what they are. The Balm Nude Dude Eyeshadow in Flirty- I was super excited to find this in my bag! I've always heard about The Balm but I have never had access to the brand until recently. The brand is now carried at Kohl's and I will definitely be checking into the brand. This shade is smooth, buttery, and pigmented. The shade is just okay for me. I will definitely use it and see if I like it better on my eyes. Starlook Lip Gloss in Cuddle - This is another brand that I am not the biggest fan of. Their products are not bad but I just haven't fallen in love with any of them. This shade is definitely out of my comfort zone and I don't know if I'll get much use out of it. It is super cute and sparkly and the perfect size to throw in your purse. What did you get in your Ipsy Bag? Let me know! I am so excited to share with you my entire Makeup Geek collection! I absolutely love this brand and it has become my favorite brand for eye shadows. Marlena has done the most amazing job formulating all of her products but her shadows in particular are just amazing! They are so creamy, blendable, and pigmented. I have not come across a single dud. Her products are fantastic and you can't beat the prices. So let's get into my collection! Okay so let's start with the products that I have the lease of, pigments and blushes. Pigments Blushes Eye Shadows So, that is my Makeup Geek collection! I am so excited for what's up and coming for this brand and all of the new products that are being released this year! What are your favorite Makeup Geek products? Let me know! :)
I am so impressed with her, I continue to go back and place more orders. It's incredibly difficult to control myself because she is releasing new products every month this year! This is the fourth order I've placed and I am wicked excited about it. I am currently working on doing a blog post (with swatches) of my entire Makeup Geek collection. So lets get into the haul! For this haul I ended up purchasing a mix of neutrals and fun colors. The eye shadows are such good quality and the price point is so great, I feel like I need any product that catches my attention (you don't Ashley, you really don't). Rapunzel OMG guys! I was so excited when I saw that Marlena was releasing an eyeshadow with this name! Tangled is one of my favorite movies so this was very cool. This is a beautiful buttery pale gold shade. This is a really nice lid shade for me. Now, if you're much darker than me (AKA everyone) this would probably end up being a highlight color. Bleached Blonde This is a shimmery pale gold. Golds aren't colors I usually use on a daily basis because alot of them tend to be super metallic and pull very orange on me. Since this isn't so in-your-face gold, I think this will work really well for me, especially in the summer time. Glamorous This color is a shimmery bronze gold, as you can see, it pulls pretty orange on my skin tone. Colors like this really make my brown eyes pop but they aren't my favorite shades to wear. Hopefully I can tone down the orange a bit with some cooler shadows. I bought this because I thought it would be perfect for the summer time. Brown Sugar This is a very warm copper brown. These colors become super favorites of mine in the fall time. I think this would be beautiful paired with Glamorous or even Bleached Blonde. Definitely a must have in my collection. Pretentious This is a metallic bronze and it reminds me so much of MAC's eyeshadow in Tempting. I don't have a ton of shades like this in my collection so this one will be fun to play with. Unexpected This shade is so interesting. It is a cool grey with pinkish purple undertones. I have see so many people use this and I needed to have it. I think this is the perfect way to add some color to my everyday makeup look while still staying pretty neutral. Sensuous This is a shimmery dark purple with flecks of gold. It is very beautiful and would look amazing paired with a gold shade on the lid. I have a weakness for purples people! Wisteria This is a matte light to medium purple that reminds me of Stars N Rockets by MAC just without the duo chrome and shimmer. This is the 2015 version of this shadow but I never had the original version. This is going to be the perfect shadow to use for a pop of color on the lower lash line this spring and summer. Glass Slipper This a shimmery pale blue color. If this shade of blue doesn't scream Cinderella to you, then I don't know what will. The color name is so cute and this will be really fun to use on my brown eyes. Shark Bait I am so excited to play with this shade! It actually surprised me at how dark it swatched. It is a beautifully unique deep matte teal color. Mermaid This. Color. It. So. Pretty. It's a metallic light blue with gold shimmer. It just has so dimension. It reminds me of sea glass shimmering in the sun. It's just amazing.
I still have quite a few product on my wish list so another order is inevitable. What are your favorite Makeup Geek products? Stay tuned for my Makeup Geek collection! :) It's my favorite post to put up, my monthly Ipsy bag! I get so excited when I get that shiny pink envelope sitting in my mailbox. I am just as excited to share with you the goodies that I got this month!
NYX Butter Lipstick in Hunk-I was really excited to receive one of these lipsticks in my bag. I have been eyeing them for quite some time now but I never bought one. This color is a purple pink raspberry color. It is somewhat sheer and to get full color it will take a couple passes. I am kind of not thrilled with the color choice since it's almost spring but it is a beautiful color with a nice and creamy texture. Vintage Illuminating Face Highlighter in Crystal Pink- This product is so beautiful. At first I thought it was an eye shadow but I will use it as both. It reminds me of Urban Decay's Sin but definitely more pink. It reminds me of Makeup Geek's Cinderella eye shadow. I love face highlighters but since I am so fair I think this might be too pink for my skin tone. It is very soft in texture and pretty pigmented. It is shimmery but it doesn't have any glitter in it. Pur~Lisse Pur~Delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser- I have received another product from this brand a few months ago but I have yet to use it. This is a gentle cleanser and makeup remover product. It claims to be sulfate free and non drying and for all skin types. Since it's small I plan to take it with me as my cleanser when I go to Orlando in May. The packaging is super cute and I am very excited to try out this cleanser. Evelyn Iona Cosmetics Concealer- I was very excited to receive a concealer in my bag but like the rest if the face products it does not match my fair complexion. I will probably pass this along to someone that can use it and enjoy it. When I swatched it, the product was very creamy, very easy to blend, and was not tacky whatsoever. Gilchrist & Soames Body Lotion- I was a little put off when I saw this product in my bag, it looks like a product that came from a hotel room. I actually might have used this is a hotel room before. The formula is kind of thin and I am not a huge fan. It smells nice and fresh though. So, it is time once again for my ipsy bag breakdown. I am so excited for the products in my bag this month, so let's jump right into it!
2 Glam Glow Brightmud Eye Treatments- I am so excited that Glam Glow is in this months bag! I really do enjoy the brand as a whole. I will be completely honest that I am not over the moon about trying this particular product but I am excited that I get to. This is definitely not a product that I would spend my money on because it isn't something that I really need. When I try it out I will do a past and let you know how I liked it and the low down on the ingredients. Tini Beauty Eyeshadow in Pearl Fizz- I have never heard of this brand before but this color is my favorite shade to wear. It's a beautiful shimmery champagne color. It was decently pigmented when I swatched it but I have yet to actually use it on my eyes. Even if it doesn't work out for my eyes, I can use it as a face highlighter. City Color Creamy Lip Stain in Flirtini- This is another brand that I have never heard of but this product is so petty! I have it on my lips right now and I absolutely love the color! It's a warm rosy pink that is very close to my natural lip color. One thing that I have found with this product is that it smells very strongly of chemicals and you can still smell it when you first apply it to your lips. You have been warned. Model Co. Blush in Peach Bellini- I am addicted to blush so I was very happy to see that there was a blush in my bag. I don't think I have ever got a blush before. The shade I got reminds me a lot of Benefit's Coralista just more pigmented and a bit darker. This blush definitely has shimmer in it. I am excited to try this product because it is one of m favorite blush shades. Demeter Roll On Perfume Oil in First Love- I absolutely love the Demeter perfume oils. I have received a total of 3 in my bags and I have liked all but one. Because they are oils they last a super long time. They are also super convenient because they are the perfect roller ball size to keep in your purse. When I first smelled this one, the only thing I could say was that it smelled like flowers. I am so not a floral scent person but this one is very light and doesn't smell like grandma's perfume. This has white rose, water lotus, and jasmine in it along with lemon zest and honeysuckle. This scent is going to be perfect for Easter and spring. |
About Me...As you know, I love skin care but I also love makeup. I decided that I would also post all things makeup here too! Swatches, reviews, favorite products, and tags will be featured on this page. Enjoy! Archives
