I'll be starting with my price breakdown by category. I was able to use up quite a bit this past year but not quite as much as in 2016. This is probably due to the fact that in 2016 I had deluxe samples that I worked through as well as many products were already used a good amount. This year was the year of using up full size and barely used products. Some of these numbers were shocking to me. I was obviously glad that I was able to use up so much but also disgusted at the sheer amount of products I had just sitting around. I am so glad that I have changed my shopping habits and have been finishing and destashing products from my collection. So, let's get into it!

Oh. My. God. I can't believe I used up almost $2500 worth of products. As you can tell a lot of the big categories are the skin care and body care categories. I use a lot of high end skin care so that makes sense. I am shocked at my total for bath products! I have a box of all of my bath bombs, bath melts, and bubble bars but I never thought that I had that much! I am upset that I have spent that much money on bath products. The fact that I wasn't even using them and that they were just sitting in a box in my room is worse. I am glad I was able to get through the amount I did in 2017 and I plan to finish the remaining products in 2018.
Now we will move on to the progress pictures. These are the few products that I was working on and had been sharing in my monthly updates along with some starting pictures for products that I want to work on finishing in 2018.
This is where I ended up with my Makeup Geek Vanilla Bean shadow single in 2017 and where I will be starting for 2017. I actually have quite a few all over cream base shades in my collection so I am glad to be so close to finishing one. I was really hoping I would get to finish this in 2017 but unfortunately it didn't happen. I am hoping to finish this by February 2018. |
My Too Faced Milk Chocolate bronzer is still going strong. If I wasn't working on my bronzer from 2016 for the first few months of 2017 then I probably would have been able to finish this. I don't have much left so I definitely plan to finish this in 2018 before moving on to the last bronzer in my collection. I have found that this is not a product that you need multiple versions or backups of in your collection. It takes me about a year to work though one so there is no need to have more than one. |
This is the start of the products that weren't part of my monthly updates. This is the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Powder. This is the point that I am starting at for 2018. I find that I go through drugstore powders. I have no more powders on back stock except a powder that I have to replace this one when I finish it. I don't usually add in powders to my updates but I love me some good progress pictures and face powders show progress the quickest. |
This is the picture of the highlighter that I mentioned in my Beauty Goals 2017: How'd I Do? post. I can't believe I am seeing pan in a highlighter! I know that it's not a super substantial amount of pan but I am very proud of it. In case you were wondering this is the Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight. I love this. It is such a natural highlight that makes you look glowy but not in the overdone way like some of the more intense highlighter formulas. I don't know if I am going to be continuing to use this on a daily basis in 2018 to see where I can get or if I want to work on something else. I have yet to decide. I really just wanted to share the pan pic with you all! |
This is the last product and also one that wasn't included in my monthly progress posts. This is Benefit Hervana blush. This was also mentioned in my Beauty Goals 2017: How'd I do? post. I am so surprised that I have pan showing because I totally wasn't expecting it. It is very obvious that there is still a TON of product left in this blush. I don't know if this is a product that I will continue to wear on a daily basis or if I will move onto another blush and try and get some progress on it. This is such a nice color on me and I wouldn't mind continuing to use this on a daily basis but I think I have been neglecting my other blushes. |
