This was a big month for destashes for me. I have definitely been looking more critically at my collection and letting go of more things that I am finding that I am just not reaching for. I am definitely being brutal and putting products to the test over and over again to make ruthless cuts. I will be giving the following list of products to a co-worker that I just discovered loves makeup. She is young and doesn't have a lot of money for makeup. I know this stuff will make her happy.
1. Lorac Pro Palette and Lorac Mega Pro 2 Palette- I bought these palettes because of all the hype the brand was receiving. To be honest, I don't even really like the colors in the Lorac Pro, I only bought it because everyone went on and on about how everyone needs it. The Lorac Mega Pro 2 got purchased because of the hype of the first Mega Pro. When I saw it on Ulta's website I felt that I needed it. To be honest, I like my shimmers to pack more of a punch than most of these have. I also found that these shadows fade throughout the day, which doesn't happen with any of my other shadows.
2. Mary Kay mini lip gloss set- I received this as a christmas gift from a co-worker and it was so very sweet. Since I haven't used them I have decided to pass them on. I have so many lip products that I don't know when I will ever get to these.
3. Sephora Radiant Luminizing Drops in Morning Light- I like the formula of these but I have a Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal that's very similar and that I like the look of on my skin better.
4. Benefit Rockateur- This is another product that I bought because everyone was saying how I needed it. I just don't like this color on me. Since I am so fair it pulls super orange on me and the pink shimmer in it just isn't very flattering. This survived my last declutter but I am finally saying goodbye to it.
5. Cargo Powder Blush in Mendocino- This is such a beautiful deep berry rose blush. I always told myself it would be perfect for the fall and winter. Well, fall and winter have come and gone and I never reached for it. It's time to let this one go.
6. Cargo Matte Bronzer- This is a very good bronzer but it is too dark and orange for me. I feel like I have to be so careful when I use it and I just don't have that kind of time in the morning.
7. MAC Semi Precious Crystal Pink Mineralized Skin Finish- I basically bought this because of all the hype surrounding the mineralized skin finishes. I remember loving this product but when I recently tried to use it again, I found it to be way too glittery and intense on my skin. That's what I have to get rid of it.
8. MAC Pinch O' Peach Blush- This blush is so beautiful but I just don't ever reach for it. This was purchased in my MAC days when I would just buy things to buy them. I forget I have this and that is why it needs to go.
9. MAC Prolongwear Waterproof Colour Stick in Bleached Out Beige- I really wanted to love this product and the formula is really nice. The color just isn't as metallic and reflective as I was hoping it would be. I know cream products go bad so much faster than powders so it's better off going to someone that will actually use it before it goes bad.
10. Mally Shadow Stick Extra in Mahogany- This is another shadow stick with a great formula but the color is just way too dark for me to be able to throw on. Again, it'll be much better off with someone that can actually get used out of it.
11. Fiona Styles Radiant Aqua Eye Veil in Arrow- This is such a good product! It blend well and is easy to work with but the color is just too dark. It feels so cooling on the eyes and it's so pigmented. I would definitely be into trying another shade of this product.
12. Sephora Waterproof Eyeliner in 33 Love Affair Plum- I have never opened this and because I have so many plum liners, I decided to just pass it along to someone that can use it while it's still good.
13. NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Via Veneto- I almost never wear black liner and it needs to be given to someone that will actually use it.
14. Kat Von D Ink Liner in Baudelaire- I am not a huge fan of the ink liner and this dark blue shade just doesn't have a place in my collection. I won't ever use this.
15. Makeup Geek Blushes in Rendezvous and Spell Bound- I have so many other blushes and I have colors that are similar so these need to be passed along.
Now it's time to see the progress pictures!
I am hoping I can get myself together in this next month. I am kind of in a rut with my cool toned shades and I am not very inspired by them. It is way too early for me to be burned out already. It's only April! I don't really have a plan at this point but I am not going to force myself to wear things I am not enjoying just for the sake of finishing a products. Hopefully your projects are going better then mine!
