Summer is right around the corner, which means spending more time in the sun isn't far behind. As an esthetician, I can't stress enough how important sun care is. The following are some tips to keep you (and your family's) skin safe this spring and summer season.
For the kiddos:
All kids love to play outside and can't be bothered to put on sunscreen. As the parent, you need to teach them about sun safety. The most important rule is to keep newborns OUT OF THE SUN! Once your baby is six months old, it's safe to apply sunscreen
For you:
Same rules apply for you! Apply a physical sunscreen and don't forget to reapply. Kids learn from what they see, so practice good suncare!
In the summer months, don't skip the cleansing. Sunscreen is designed to stick and sit on the surface of the skin. Make sure you wash your face (especially at night) to get everything off so you reduce the chances of causing breakouts.
With so much sun exposure, you need to keep your skin hydrated. Moisturize morning and night. It's also a good idea to keep a moisturizing facial spray with you to cool you off and keep your face fresh looking.
Exfoliate once a week to make dry skin disappear, leaving skin glowing and beautiful.
